The main difference between Sochi and Gelendzhik
How not to spoil your vacation? How not to be deceived in expectations when going on vacation?
To do this, you need to accurately represent the place where you are going. Today I am comparing two of the most popular resort cities on the black sea coast of the Caucasus.
Sochi and Gelendzhik are completely different resorts in terms of climate, landscape, scale, attractions, and opportunities. But this is not the main difference between them. And you know when I realized that? When we began not just to relax in one city for one vacation, but to travel along the coast and live in different places. So in 2017, we rested 9 days in Sochi, 3 days in Krasnaya Polyana and on the way back we stopped for a few days in Gelendzhik. Only after almost simultaneously visiting both places, you will feel the difference (for which I love auto travel very much). But first I will tell you a little about both cities.
Gelendzhik
Gelendzhik is a small, cozy, green city. "City of my dreams" is written on the entrance. And in General the way it is. A dream in its purest form.
Gelendzhik is a fantastically beautiful Bay in the shape of a horseshoe.
Gelendzhik is the most beautiful and longest embankment in Russia. Its length is about 9 kilometers.
Gelendzhik is the most beautiful sunsets in Russia.
Gelendzhik is the cleanest city in Russia.
Gelendzhik is a magical healing air, "ornate" pitsund pine, a comfortable climate.
Sochi
Sochi is the capital of our South. And that says it all. Steeped in legend and glory of the resort. Huge and very different.
Sochi is full of lush nature, steep serpentines, mountains, and breathtaking views.
Sochi is a sanatorium-palaces, a classic embankment with a balustrade and palm trees.
Sochi is the Olympic Park, Imeretinka, modern stadiums and the embankment.
Sochi — incomprehensible beauty of the mountains and resorts of Krasnaya Polyana.
I will not say banalities, but while vacationing at both resorts, you will find a lot of interesting sights and beautiful places. In Sochi, of course, there are more of them. Because of Sochi, greater Sochi, the giant compared to a Large city. And now we are back where we started. The main difference between the two resorts.
The main difference between Sochi and Gelendzhik is the atmosphere! Gelendzhik is a very integral, harmonious town with a single microclimate. Cozy! Yes, there are a lot of people here in July and August. But in other months it is incredibly comfortable to stay! A city for long, leisurely walks. A city for relaxation. A city that energizes, resuscitates, and relieves fatigue. City-sanatorium. A city for everyone-young and old, with and without children, strong and weak, active and disabled.
Describing Sochi, the last epithets that will come to my mind are the words "atmospheric" and"cozy". Sochi is cool, but... too diverse. Compared with Gelendzhik-"Roman", Sochi — "multi-volume". Come on car, just stand in traffic jams, looking for Parking, flow into the river of tourists on the streets and embankments, standing in line for a photo shoot to the sights, and then pretends to be a giant list of places to visit and it was filtered strictly because just not enough, never enough. You will study big Sochi in stages, not at once or twice. You will definitely fall in love with some places in the process of studying and will definitely return to them. And something you will not accept at all, in any way. Sochi (if it is not considered only for a health resort in one institution!) — a city for active and young people. That's how I feel it.
Yes, Sochi has atmospheric places, but that's what makes it different from Gelendzhik — Sochi has places, and Gelendzhik has all of Gelendzhik's atmospheric. The most romantic resort city in our South!
