What awaits us in the campaign: forewarned means armed!
Hiking in the forest, with a backpack and a tent can be a great pleasure.
And how great it is to review photos in winter evenings and relive those unforgettable summer experiences: gatherings around the fire on a warm night, a trip by kayak or raft on a mountain river, picnics, fishing, mushrooms and berries!

Let's talk about the little things that can completely ruin a vacation in nature, and how to foresee these troubles.

One of the first dangers that can be found in the forest are ticks. Ticks are carriers of such a serious disease as tick-borne encephalitis. The tick bite is often painless, and the insect is found stuck after a while – in the evening, or even the next day, accidentally, for example, while changing clothes. You can protect yourself from a tick bite by using closed clothing – long sleeves, trousers tucked into shoes, hats, high collar.

It is important to periodically inspect the entire body. If you find a tick, you need to drop vegetable oil on it, then it will come out from under the skin itself and completely. Otherwise, there is a risk that the insect elements will remain in the wound. The tick can be saved for testing in a special laboratory, where it is detected whether it was infected with the encephalitis virus.

Less dangerous than ticks, other insects that can bite, but they can bring a lot of trouble. Bees, ants, wasps, and mosquitoes can be repelled by special means. Various creams and aerosols are quite effective and are widely available on sale, including for children. Do not forget to use them, especially for people who are highly sensitive to insect venom. They are at risk of developing severe complications. Also, Allergy sufferers must have the necessary medications with them.

If you still got a wasp, do not panic and do not make sudden movements, in this case, the bite will follow necessarily. It is better to wait quietly until the insect flies away.

When we hear about the dangers encountered in the forest, the first thing that comes to mind is the thought of snakes. We imagine them crawling in the grass, hidden from view, or lying crouched on the branches of trees, ready to fall on a person passing below and bite, inject their venom into the body. But in order to understand how real this danger is, you need to know how things are in your region. In the Moscow region, for example, poisonous snakes are almost not found, and if they do, it will be a Viper, the serum from the poison of which is available in almost all hospitals, and the effect of the poison does not occur immediately. But before going to the forest, it is important to learn how to act in the event of a bite. If you meet a snake on the way, in no case do not panic, calmly follow on. Snakes never attack first.

One of the most common problems in the campaign is poisoning. Many products that you want to take with you are perishable. This process is especially fast in hot weather. It is also dangerous to buy food that is sold near stations where trains stop, and in no case can you eat berries and mushrooms, about which you absolutely do not know that they are edible. One of the most common mistakes is when the poisonous plant crow's eye is mistaken for blueberries or blueberries. To prevent poisoning, it is also important to be prepared in advance and have the necessary medications in the first aid kit.

The headdress will help prevent not only tick bites, but also heat stroke, which is easy to get if your route passes through open terrain, mountains or in the steppe. You must have enough drinking water with you (do not forget that you can take water for cooking and drinking from natural sources – lakes, rivers, etc.only in extreme cases), halts should be arranged in the shade of trees and it is important not to stay in the open sun for a long time. As in the case of other hazards, there are preventive measures – be sure to use sunscreens before going out on Sunny days.

Another surprise that can lie in wait for tourists is hypothermia. This seems very strange if we are talking about a hike in the warm season, but in fact, if the trip is a kayak through a cold river, or you are caught in a torrential rain, you can catch a cold without noticing yourself. It is important to remember that at the first opportunity, you need to change wet clothes, change shoes to dry ones and RUB your body with a dry towel.

You should also be very careful when using an open fire – when you dry clothes over a fire, cook food. Watch out for children, so that they do not play in the immediate vicinity of the fire, it is better to dry clothes at a certain distance, when removing the boilers, use special potholders, and when the fire is not needed, carefully extinguish it. In hot, dry weather, a fire can start from a single small spark.

Be careful when fishing-make sure that the cast line does not touch anyone – a fish hook caught on the skin is very difficult to remove and can cause a lot of problems. Fresh fish can also be dangerous to health, there are types of parasites that are transmitted to humans when eating fish. Make sure that the fish is well cooked.

In any case, do not drink alcohol during tourist trips. Alcoholic beverages severely impair coordination of movements, disrupt the brain's thinking functions, lose control over behavior, and the environment can be incorrectly evaluated. In nature, drunk people very often have accidents, they are in danger of getting serious injuries and even drown in the shallowest reservoir.

For a successful and enjoyable holiday, it is important to get together properly. We have already mentioned the availability of necessary medical supplies that can help in an emergency, but it is important to take into account other components of the baggage. Clothing and shoes should be comfortable and fit well. A running Shoe that rubs your foot can not only ruin the entire trip, but also make you stop it. Clothing made of "non-breathing" materials can cause diaper rash, the chafing strap of the backpack is not much different from a corn, and after all, the injured skin can get an infection! Before the trip, and during it, make sure that the Luggage is evenly distributed among the backpacks and the load on the back does not exceed the permissible norm.

Carefully consider what other injuries may occur during the trip – sprains, dislocations (it is important to carefully watch where you step), bad falls threaten to concussion. Also in the campaign, you have to use a lot of sharp hand tools – chop wood with an axe, use a hunting knife – all this entails the danger of cuts. With all this in mind, create a first aid kit that will contain everything you need to provide first aid. Make sure that there is a person in your group who knows how to provide it. Ask in advance where on your route you can quickly get the necessary medical care.

Don't forget to bring a compass, flashlight, well-charged batteries or a stock of batteries, make sure that your mobile phone is working. It is not recommended to stray far from the group. Do not forget that a beginner easily loses orientation in the forest.

So, the purpose of this article was to show you that the danger can be not only a situation that poses a serious threat to life, but also seemingly trivial details that can not only ruin your vacation, but also cause serious damage to your health. But also, we did not want to intimidate you and thus force you to give up this type of vacation. Quite the opposite. With proper preparation, any troubles you encounter on the way will be easily overcome, and the trip will leave only happy impressions!
